This volume also includes an introduction by comics writer Roger Stern, who looks back at the artists inspired by Hal Foster. Hal Foster's Prince Valiant is the most magisterial strip ever conceived, and Fantagraphics Books' series is the loveliest production of this masterpiece ever published.
